‘Roommate 🩷✨🍷’ sent you a reel

Tasman May

there's something about the way nighttime doesn't feel so lonely

with her easy-as-breathing chuckle tapping gently at the door / the notification bar of my phone

I am not alone,

because she is right there, curled up in a woven algorithm blanket.

It is beautiful here, high above the stardust of the city,

silence bedazzled with the comforts of close proximity.

Maybe it's the echo of the day's company,

fingerprints of our communal humour blue tacked to the walls and dripping

like spilled wine – gleefully.

It fades as hands move further away / tinny speakers / ghostly winds / whispered confessions / tired sighs / silent laughter / police sirens / soft snores / love

that doesn't need signs.
