NEZOLIKA

Motel Blues

8:30 rushed and still i took it, timed

the chance to snatch some couple

frames of you content for you

not to notice my blatant staring

or the vacancy whose neon light

conveniently flicked on its proceeding NO

pretty soon after your car came up

i won’t be billing you but if you pop by

the office you can take a mint and i’ll

wave you off back

you know it’s on the house

(‘course it was on the house)

check out’s 9 o’clock

some degree of hospitality given

for the folks in passing but

you can dump your suitcase and

clothes and leave your key to rot

in your jean pocket by the lint till it

nests in the fibres

8:30 cool out and dinner planned

the chance to snatch some couple

moments of you content for you

to settle in the blue

wisdom

french kissing a liquorice butterscotch

till it sticks at my tooth uproots so quick &

tonguing at the rawness now sucking out I

become a summer pest buzzing around

my mother

wearing my gums like a satin sash

across my cheeks prom queen of my tweens and

disaster-quake of mental health and wellbeing

i learn you keep a little baggie of my teeth

it’s only in passing i remember your uprooting

your tearing. your ripping. your splitting of me

into two distinct parts. your reluctance to be

chewed free, no now you need forceps &

general anaesthetic

you keep a little baggie of my teeth and

i was wondering if i could have it to check

for trace amounts of bedazzled fly dung
