Elections for the 2006-2007 Ngai Tauira executive are to take place this week.

Twelve positions are up for grabs in the elections, including those of President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary and seven executive positions.

Like last week’s VUWSA elections, voting will be held electronically and all students who identified as Maori on their enrolment form will receive a link to the voting website at their preferred email address.

Election co-ordinator Matthew Gifford says that he hopes the new system will “create a more representative pool on candidates, and a more representative result of the Maori student population.” Voting started at 8 am today and will continue to 5pm on October 6.

Results will be published online at www.ngaitauira.org.nz.
