News In Brief

The exam timetable for trimester two was released on Friday, and students are being urged to check their enrolments to make sure they are enrolled correctly. The University no longer mails out personalized exam timetables or results, because of the high numbers of letters that are returned to sender. Students can check their enrolments at www.studentvuw.ac.nz. After a four-month trial, the opening hours of the StudyLink office at the Pipitea campus will now be restricted to the three weeks from the beginning of a new semester and the three weeks leading to the end of a semester. The StudyLink offices on Willis Street and at the Kelburn campus will continue to be available to Victoria students year-round. Studylink is citing a lack of foot traffic as the reason for the closure.

The gas outage in central Wellington has continued to affect the Law School. A small number of businesses still haven’t had their gas reconnected from the outage which occurred on August 31, which the Council has blamed on a burst water pipe. Most law students have noticed an unseasonably cold building, but students up in Kelbun have told them to “get over it” and “hahahaha argue your way out of that fuckos”. In other news, one law student saw a homeless guy giving himself a wash in the bathroom. The lack of heating means he’ll probably go to Burger King from now on.
