Out of the (economic) storm comes a tall handsome man…
By | 13 Oct, 2008
John Key was annoyed that Helen and Cullen didn’t consult him on the plan to insure savings.
But one only has to read Milton’s Paradise Lost to figure out why they didn’t want him in on the gig.
“What if the breath that kindl’d those grim fires
Awak’d should blow them into sevenfold rage
And plunge us in the Flames? or from above
Should intermitted vengeance Arme again
His red right hand to plague us? what if all
Her stores were op’n'd, and this Firmament
Of Hell should spout her Cataracts of Fire,
Impendent horrors, threatning hideous fall
One day upon our heads”
- Milton, Paradise Lost
Reinterpretation for present day
“What if the thinking that nurtured this economic crisis
Awak’d should continue in downward spirals
And plunge us into bankruptcy? or from above
Should we let neo-liberal refomers at our economy again
The invisible hand to rob us? what if all
Regulation was deregulated and this chaos
Of free market capitalism should spout her fountains of inequity,
Forthcoming horrors, threatning hideous fall
Very shortly upon our wallets”
- Manglethwaite, New Zealand Lost

Isn’t it actually a bipartisan move?
Bill English was claiming to have organised the meetings on RNZ National.

It could very well be a bi partisan move.
But John Key is the one with a claw hand. I thought at first that picture was of him having some sort of heart attack bought on by the loss in value of his portfolio.
Neither Party will do a decent job of managing our economy. Both Labour & National are going to fuck it up. I would rather live in the system we have now than having another half hearted attempted at neo liberal reform.
